Make crispy, flavorful Lebanese Air Fryer Shrimp in just minutes! Seasoned with lemon, garlic & za’atar, then cooked to perfection, this easy recipe is healthy, delicious, and perfect for a quick meal or appetizer.

It’s never been easier to make seafood at home than now. Shopping at my local D&W Fresh Market, they have a wonderful selection of both fresh and frozen seafood that you can turn into a healthy meal at home. And with appliances like an Instant Pot and air fryer, healthy meals come together so quickly! With my groceries delivered quickly and affordably, I came up with this delicious Lebanese Air Fryer Shrimp, that I highly recommend you serve over my Lebanese Rice Pilaf with Vermicelli.
Why You’ll Love This Shrimp
- It uses just 5 simple ingredients.
- Makes for easy meal prep, and can be a great lunch or dinner.
- You’ll have dinner on the table in around 10 minutes!
Ingredients

- Shrimp: Low in calories while being a great source of protein, it has a very mild fishy flavor. Make sure it is peeled and deveined before cooking!
- Lemon juice: Adds bright, citrusy flavor and makes the shrimp tender.
- Garlic: Adds a nutty, aromatic, somewhat sweet taste.
- Za’atar: A delicious middle-eastern spice blend that gives the shrimp that Lebanese flavor.
Easy Substitutions
- While I highly recommend using fresh lemon juice, you could also use bottled lemon juice.
- This marinade and method would taste great with scallops instead of shrimp, or even chicken.
How to Make Lebanese Air Fryer Shrimp

Step 1. Start by making your marinade by juicing your lemon and adding it to a bowl with some olive oil

Step 2. Then use a microplane to freshly grate your garlic into the bowl, and add the za’atar.

Step 3. Whisk it all together until fully combined, adding a pinch of chili flakes if you like bit of a kick.

Step 4. Add the shrimp and toss until fully coated. Then toss in your air fryer basket at 400 for around 7 minutes.

Once shrimp is pink and cooked through, serve it on a bed of rice or rice pilaf and garnish with fresh parsley, and enjoy your Lebanese Air Fryer Shrimp!
Frequently Asked Questions
Shrimp is a great option as part of a healthy balanced diet, and using an air fryer is definitely healthier than traditionally frying shrimp in oil.
You can cook them immediately, or let them marinate for 30 minutes. If your marinade has lemon or lime juice in it, you don’t have to let it sit long.
If my Lebanese Rice Pilaf doesn’t interest you, then you can also serve it over a bed of white or brown rice, your favorite pasta, or on a salad.
